Building Emotional Inteligence with Dual-Awareness makes you a better Trader via more effective decision making.

Holding on to (experiencing) opposing emotions is one of the important abilities human beings have. It's why resilience exists - e.g., because you can both feel grateful and sad simultaneously. It allows growth through strife. Fear and hope simultaneously fortify determination and create strength and learning experiences.

Objectivity lies in experiencing opposing emotions. It is one of the greatest gifts of being a human being (or having a frontal lobe) gives us.

When people feel things like gratitude or joy while feeling sadness or anger... or whatever - it gives us the ability to expand psychologically. An essential skill in Trading.

This dual awareness enhances our capacity for resiliency and determination. Aka, "mental toughness".

Positive emotions do not need to be used to snuff out negative emotions; it's a bad habit in the long run - it only helps in the short run - and it can weaken resiliency and inhibit "mental toughness" in the long run.

It can even create the danger of becoming Pollyanna, AKA someone who whistles past the graveyard 🪦 all the time (poor risk managers).

Work on your emotional intelligence; killing them does not work; if you do "succeed," you'll kill the good or desired emotions, too.

The goal of self-awareness isn't feeling better. It's getting better at feeling.
